A great deal has changed in the last 15 years and Professor Clinton J. Dawes has succeeded in producing an excellent, current synthesis of the marine botanical sciences. Many of the topics covered are relatively new, such as electrophoretic algal studies, Eucheuma mariculture and commercial production of methane from fermented algal biomass. These examples illustrate the complete effort to bring forth a broad, bibliographic reference/ text.
